Meet Julia Eckstein

Julia Eckstein
Managing Director

Managing Director of Guidon Performance Solutions’ Healthcare Services & Government practice, Julie Eckstein has over 25 years of experience in various areas of community and public health, healthcare delivery and health policy.

Prior to joining Guidon, Julie was Vice President and State Policy Director for the Center for Health Transformation (CHT). In her role, Julie was responsible for leading CHT’s state work with Executive and Legislative branches including issues of Health Insurance Exchanges, Health Information Exchanges, public health, Medicaid, state employee benefits and global issues including ACO’s, long term living, delivery reform, transparency, consumer engagement and payment reform which had participation by both Former Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Senator Tom Daschle.

Prior to joining CHT, Julie served as Director of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, where she Chaired the Governor’s HIT Task Force, served on the Medicaid Reform Commission and was a key member of a subgroup that developed a complete redesign of Missouri’s Medicaid program.

Julie has clinical experience in Psychiatry, Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Burn Trauma, Pediatrics, Chemical Dependency, Skilled Nursing, and Long Term Care/Geriatrics and held leadership positions within economic development and marketing. She has been a regular guest lecturer at several St. Louis area universities, has spoken nationally on topics including health reform and HIT and has been a board member and consultant for many chambers, nonprofit boards and organizations, and healthcare corporations.

Julie has a BS degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis.
